  3. Welcome to the DO script processor.
  4.  
  5. The program DO.EXE executes text file scripts. These scripts give
  6. you a powerful tool to perform many tasks on your PC.
  7.  
  8. DO features include:

  10.     ■    Control of the text screen display (position, color,
  11.          speed of display, sound)
  12.     ■    Ability to execute other programs
  13.     ■    Variables which can be entered by the user and
  14.          displayed
  15.     ■    Script control with selective branching, loops, etc
  16.     ■    Execution of scripts from other scripts
  17.     ■    A complete math package
  18.     ■    A communications package
  19.     ■    An onscreen clock
  20.     ■    A calendar display and date/time functions
  21.     ■    String handling functions
  22.     ■    An INTERACTIVE mode for operator intervention/testing

  24. The DO script processor is distributed as three files:
  25.  
  26. DOnnnn1[a].ZIP    The Executable files and quick reference
  27. DOnnnn2[a].ZIP    The DO script processor tutorial
  28. DOnnnn3[a].ZIP    DO sample scripts
  29.  
  30. "nnnn" is the version number.
  31. "a"    is the revision number for this file only.
  32.  
  33. The only file that you technically need is "DOnnnn-1.ZIP"
  34. however, without the other two files, DO will be difficult for
  35. you to use.
  36.  
  37. If minor revisions are made, you may find that only one or more
  38. of these files have changed.  That is, the tutorial may be
  39. revised without revisions to the other files.  In this case, the
  40. optional ["a"] filename letter will change, but the version
  41. number "nnnn" will remain the same.  You need only download the
  42. revised file.  It will work with the other two files.

  44. The DO script processor is being distributed as shareware by

  101.     DO is copyrited software.  As such, you may use it like a book.  That
  102.     is, you can move it from one machine to another or keep copies on each
  103.     of the machines you personally use.  HOWEVER, you may NOT use multiple
  104.     copies of DO simultaneously without paying for each copy!

  106.     We cannot be responsible for any damages resulting from your use
  107.     of the DO script processor.  We will fix any bugs in DO, however,
  108.     we do not warrantee DO to be suitable for any particular purpose.

  110.     We also cannot guarantee that DO will operate on your particular
  111.     hardware and software setup.  You are fully resposible for any
  112.     problems caused by incompatibility between the DO script processor
  113.     and your computer hardware or software.

  124.     User Group libraries and directly to individuals as long as you do
  125.     NOT charge to distribute the software.

  127.     BBS operators may charge for access to their system as long as there
  128.     is no specific charge to get the DO program. User Group libraries are
  129.     specifically exempted from charges directly related to the production
  130.     of diskettes.

  132.     If you are a service which distributes shareware software on
  133.     diskette CD ROM or other media for profit, you MUST obtain
  134.     written permission from Bob Breedlove prior to distribution.

  136.     If you intend to distribute DO or DO scripts with other
  137.     software packages or as part of other products whether
  138.     commercial, shareware or freeware or as a component of a
  139.     collection of software, hardware or other product, you must
